PROCUREMENT OFFICER

We are looking for a Procurement Officer who has developed consolidated and multi-year previous experience in similar roles, within medium-structured contexts operating in the metalworking industry sector or in the production of a complex assembly finished products.
The candidate will have as objective to manage the procurement needs of the raw materials, semi-finished products and services, as well as sharing the optimization of the policies with the other production companies of the group, in order to pursue the optimization of purchases, efficiency and the effectiveness of the production flow.

Responsibilities:

– to manage the procurement process according to the company’s production needs, ensuring the qualitative, quantitative, economic and financial optimization of the purchases;
– to collaborate with the other departments of the company (logistics, engineering, quality, production, administration, sales, etc.) for the definition and pursuit of the strategic lines and the expenditure budget defined by the management;
– to follow the policies of the company and to operate in harmony with them;
– to use methodologies and techniques for the market survey and analysis, classification and assessment of suppliers, operational tools to purchase goods and/or services on the national and international market;
– to continuously observe and analyze the trend of the commodity and energy markets in terms of volume and value;
– to develop strategic scouting and benchmarking of the new suppliers (national and international), defining and negotiating the framework of the contracts;
– to independently guide the development of the supplier network, to evaluate and to add new suppliers to the company “Vendor List”, with the aim of improving the supply network;
– to integrate the business processes (BPI – Business Process Improvement) between the various group companies;
– to collaborate with the Operations management in the evaluation of the “make or buy” logics;
– to understand and to analyze the technical drawings and documentation accompanying the project, and then issue requests for the offers;
– to conduct the negotiations with the suppliers (negotiate on the price, define the quantities, payment methods and delivery times);
– to issue the purchase orders and to stipulate the supply, service and/or subcontract contracts, in compliance with the standards of the company and the current sector legislation;
– to receive and to treat the complaints about the quality and conformity of the goods purchased;
– to support the team in solving the supply issues;
– to manage, motivate and subsequently implement the purchasing team.

Requirements:

-Degree in Law/Economics/Engineering;
– significant experience in similar roles, within medium-structured contexts operating in the engineering industry sector with production of finished product of complex assembly;
– Excellent negotiation skills combined with subject matter expertise;
– Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, as well as ability to “read” the market;
– In-depth knowledge of logistics processes and proven experience in cost and time analysis for logistics flow optimization;
– Strong relational skills (management of relations & teamwork);
– Communication and active listening;
– Excellent knowledge of technical drawing;
– Advanced use of Management Software;
– Excellent knowledge of MS Office package;
– Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and spoken);
– Preferable knowledge of the Italian language (written and spoken);
– Availability for medium-term mobility also in other locations in Italy.
The labor contract will be commensurate with the experience and the possessed skills.
